Veho 5 MP 35 MM Slide Scanner

Nancy E. Harste, Amazon
10 April 2010
  • Summary: Installation process could be better documented and therefore easier. Scanner should be able to identify that a USB 2.0 was not the connection. Software should be able to detect the presence of other Arcsoft products and eliminate contention.

Ok product, rubbish customer support from Veho

PlumR14, Amazon
5 January 2013
  • Summary: Purchase and delivery through Amazon excellent. Instructions and software worked ok except a one liner about calibration. No reference to calibration in e-manual. Requested advice from Veho support and got a noreply email saying we'll get back to you in 24hrs.

Veho Slide & Negative Scanner

R. Philpotts "uncle Ray", Amazon
6 March 2009
  • Summary: The package arrived quickly and without problems. The packaging provided by the manufacturer was a masterpiece of ingenuity and quite impressive. Software loading went without hitch and after a bit of fiddling the first scans were taken - these started well but then stopped.

Works on Vista, but not on XP Professional

Mr. D. Armstrong "Dr D", Amazon
6 March 2009
  • Summary: I originally bought this scanner to convert 1700 35mm slides to digital format using my Windows XP Pro PC. It was easy to set up, but when I scanned a slide the sanner always set itself on maximum exposure. No matter what I did, I could not get it to work.

Average "Budget Slide Copier": Veho "VFS-004"

SilverBack, Amazon
6 March 2009
  • Summary: Update 04/2012: As with the majority of these devices the "Veho VFS-004" is not an actual "scanner" but is a "Slide Copier" device with a built-in "5Mp Digital Camera" that has basic "4-Element" internal optics., I have been using this Scanner for some time now.

You get what you pay for

Amazon Customer "Penfold", Amazon
6 March 2009
  • Summary: For the price this is acceptable. Slides become soot and whitewash, too much contrast, with little detail in both. Negative have a better range anyway and this does much better. Quality seems okay images will only be as sharp as the negatives.

get out those old 35mm slides

Amazon Customer, Amazon
6 March 2009
  • Summary: Although the results from this scanner are good, the process is fiddly and difficult and I found that digitizing a large number of slides or negatives becomes quite a chore.

Very good for keeping one occupied these wintery days

P. T. F. Church "Pip", Amazon
6 March 2009
  • Summary: A nice little unit with one big flaw - No on/off switch! this means that you have to scrabble about behind the computer at the end of each session or leave it on. the LED shines all the time. That aside it performs very well but beware it is USB2 only.

works, even with Vista

U. Jacob, Amazon
17 November 2008
  • Summary: Ordered this nice little device late on Friday, it was delivered this morning and set-up on my PC was relatively easy. Would have given the scanner 5 stars for easy use. However like mentioned by some previous reviewers, whitebalance is a bit a problem: most of my test negatives (from 2002) did come...
