It works .......

Anonymous, Newegg
4 November 2010
  • Summary: Use better software and you get better results. Its basic stuff, use care in using it. Takes time to load and unload slides. I didnt try to update, upgrade, or get drivers from site. Just used included disk. Works on win xp sp3, didnt try win 7 yet.
  • Pros: ok first off I have the model VFS-002 that newegg stopped carrying. But they are similar. These things work and work pretty good. Does the job and nothing more. USB powered.
  • Cons: inexpensive and requires labor. Limited in its tech ability. Software included is poor.

User Review

Jack H., Newegg
26 March 2010
  • Summary: So I’m keeping what I have…perhaps I can get Veho to give me instructions on how to open the unit then I can replace the door and clean the optics….then I will be very happy. I’m still giving this a 5 based on results and price. Frankly don't see anything I'd rather have.
  • Pros: I’m satisfied with the results and the price is right.
  • Cons: To start I tried to get the latest veho driver off the web set like Ken suggested only there isn’t any drivers. So I used the drivers from the CD sent with the unit. First problem was computer had the blue screen of death when calibrating the scanner. It was a video driver issue and after install...

Works for me!

Kenneth W., Newegg
20 February 2010
  • Summary: cheapest way to get a workable scan that I've found and install the latest driver from the website FIRST, then plug in the scanner.
  • Pros: I have (like most anyone reading this review) a pile of old slides that I'd like digitized. This device does what it says, and does a fine job (for the money, it's 5 stars). I read a lot of reviews on other sites saying the Veho4 scans are very dark and not too adjustable. I found with the new dr...
  • Cons: Difficult to get a good scan off a 40 year old negative, but let's blame Kodak film, not the scanner. Again, adjustments in the scanning process are minimal, use a decent photo editing software [Photoshop]. Comes with Photoimpression, which seems to be the only software I can get to properly mana...

Veho 5 MP 35 MM Slide Scanner

Nancy E. Harste, Amazon
7 March 2009
  • Summary: Installation process could be better documented and therefore easier. Scanner should be able to identify that a USB 2.0 was not the connection. Software should be able to detect the presence of other Arcsoft products and eliminate contention.

Worst Photo purchase this year.

drdave, Amazon
7 March 2009
  • Summary: I purchased scanner to move 35mm negatives and slides to digital. I had scanned several previously using a template on a flat bed scanner. The results were far superior to this dedicated product. Very difficult to center negative in holder above light source. Color adjustment is required each scan.

  • Summary: I purchased the Negative and Slide Converter to digitize over 3500 slides and negatives. I am almost done transferring and I'm pleased with the ease of using the Veho and the quality of the copies of my pictures.

Buy this and email your old Polaroids!

cbe2, Amazon
7 March 2009
  • Summary: The scanner allows you to put the old negatives into digital photo files, so it's great for any photographer, who's older than 30 and had been involved with cameras before the digital craze took over. A must have for all classic camera purists! No need to buy an expensive Digital Camera System!

Bad purchase

C. OConnell, Amazon
7 March 2009
  • Summary: I purchased this scanner for a Christmas gift from ANTonline. When we finally tried to hook it up it wouldn't work. I've been in contact with the manufactuer for over a month trying to figure it out. The Manufactuerer is willing to return it, but they are in the UK..

Don't buy this one!

M. Mahard, Amazon
7 March 2009
  • Summary: Contrary to the previous review our experience was completely negative. Impossible to decipher poorly written manual (different versions online and with product); took three highly competent geeks over an hour to decide it was unworkable. Not recommended - and we're keeping this clean.
