Excerpt: I got this project for my mom for the holidays. Right away she was able to use it for practical application. Recent we have needed to speak with people who emailed us forms and asked them to sign and return. We printed, signed, scanned and emailed within minuets! This is amazing.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Good Resolution, Quick, Widely Compatible
Pros: The scanner is a small form factor and seems to have a solid case.
Cons: Does not work. The scanner _requires_ a calibration step that cannot be bypassed. This calibration didn't work on my scanner. The paper is accepted but then stops in the scanner. I tried both the included Calibration sheet as well as the half-sheet of copier paper as suggested by Plustek Tech Sup...
Summary: Absolutely would recommend this to others and have recommended to others that have asked about "a good scanner to buy" for personal use.
Pros: Uses TWAIN drivers, that work with our legacy programming as well as new programs that use this standard. Well built, fast scanning. We have been purchasing them since November of 2012 and have more than 37 of them. I cannot tell you much about the software that come with the scanners as we don't...
Cons: Every once in a while the power saving time out feature has to be reset so it does not shut down the scanner, but they can be counted on one hand the times it has happened since we have been using them. We have had 1 scanner that needs to be returned under warranty (actually I think it is the pow...
Summary: I've purchased probably 20 of these scanners so far and they just keep working. Great value for the price. As with most scanners nowadays, it is TWAIN compliant.
Pros: I'm not sure why on both the 281 and 283 these few bad reviews exist. My situation is very similar to the below 5 star review. I've used the 281's for quite awhile now and have moved on to the 283's. Both are capable little scanners for the price. For the most part they just work. I was impressed...
Cons: I must also agree that the standby mode is a nicety for some maybe, but not in a work environment. I immediately turn it off.
Summary: I love this scanner. The best feature are the simple-to-use buttons for one-touch scanning. I have my scanning modes pre-set. Simply select the mode and press scan! Software is nice and straightforward too!
Pros: This lightweight, durable machine performs admirably through our EHR system. It does everything we require of it. I have installed a few of these (I also have plenty of the PS281s which were succeeded by these 283s. I've never had a problem any of these units (or the 281s) during or after the ini...
Cons: No tray to catch the papers after they're scanned. Standby mode is rather annoying, I always disable it. I got tired of my staff calling me to say their scanner doesn't work (which was always corrected by having them press the scanner button on the device itself to wake it from standby mode).
Cons: First, the installation disk has a trojan imbedded in the primary scan management program so don't even try it. I pull the software off the manufacturers website and that seemed ok though. The software is terrible and the scanner can't actually do what its description says. Its output format does...
20 April 2013
Summary: Wer seinen privaten Papierhaushalt digital übersichtlich halten möchte ist mit diesem Gerät gut bedient. Das Geschwindigkeits/Qualitätsverhältnis sowie die Baugrösse und Bedienung finde ich sehr gut gelungen (es ist sehr einfach gehalten und tut was es soll).
