Summary: I have used single sheetfed scanners for a long time for quick scanning and storage of short documents. I have access to a large business scanner when I need it. I used a Visioneer for years, until Windows XP, when it was no longer compatible.
Pros: Better than the current Visioneer line, in my opinion. I returned the last Visioneer I bought because of many compatibility issues and poor software. This gives acceptable results for basic document storage/email/fax needs. OCR software seems very good, although I have yet to test it thoroughly. ...
Cons: Motor that pulls the paper through is a little weak, so it sometimes slips when it comes to a fold or crease. Have to push a button to start scan (it was automatic on the old Visioneers), but this is minor. Pricey!
Summary: i absolutely love this scanner, for my needs it is almost perfect. I travel a lot internationally, and often I am carrying out audits of other companies....to have a small scanner with me to make copies of documents is really useful.
Summary: Very handy in that it fits into a laptop bag without taking too much room. I use it nearly every day for sending sketches relating to work projects back to my office and having this has meant that my days of trying to beg access to a fax machine are gone.
Summary: Like this a lot. it is versatile and very light & portable. The software supplied is comprehensive, especially at this price. It is bus powered but works fine even from my laptop. There is a little difficulty in inserting the paper square but that is to be expected in a portable machine like this.
