  • Summary: The quality of the scans this thing makes is pretty good, as far as I can tell. However, actually using the scanner is kind of a terrible experience. If you like to scan your negatives shortly after getting them back from processing, don't get this scanner.

Great hardware doesn't work without software!

  • Summary: I tried to get SilverFast tech support with no success. The phone message you get is "if you're not calling between 3 and 11 AM EST, hang up send an email" - i.e., you're calling Germany. Also "sorry, we are much to busy to answer all calls.
