Summary: The hardware has been flawless, I am not certain I would have designed the software interface the way these folks have, but, the software has worked fine, and I wave digitized over 2000 slides for myself, and another 700 for my church. This equipment is beautifully designed and manufactured.
Summary: Small, simple, and does the job. With about 1800 slides of family history to scan, this thing was just what the doctor ordered. I was able to get some serious high res results and it was pretty easy to use even for a novice. Small desktop footprint so my desk wasn't a mess.
Summary: I am another one of the "I have several thousand negatives and need to scan ..." and also a former owner of two Nikon scanners that died due to age and that the camera tech center I use was not getting replacement parts so I am also searching for alternatives (very few now) to non Nikon-Non...
Summary: So far I have scanned in over 1500 slides and about 35 negatives. While the process can be somewhat slow I have been very pleased with the results. Putting in the slide tray can be somewhat "vague" at times - an error message comes on if the alignment is not correct.
Summary: I bought this item to try and preserve a lot of 35 mm slides. The software could be a little better as far as being more user friendly. The slide scanner itself is well made and very durable. I think it was taking way too long to scan files, so I decided to have a local company do the whole lot.
Pros: Works very well with the included software. Lots of photo adjustments that work. Preview on the computer screen is large so it is easy to see what needs to be corrected. Film and slide holders are well made and work well. I have already done over 1000 slides and negative film. More slides to go. ...
Cons: The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that the upgrade online software doesn't work. The upgrade software does not work with my computer ? Runs very slow. I had to uninstall it and go back to the supplied software. Did this 3 times, same results. The original software on the disk runs fast. I have...

Summary: Rating of 4 stars only because I miss being able to print! If this isn't a problem for you, then don't hesitate to get this!
Pros: Great scanner and (SilverFast) software at an affordable price. Makes awesome scans of 35mm negatives and slides at up to 7200 dpi. The first of 3 film scanners I've owned and the ONLY one I have been happy with.
Cons: SilverFast software is touchy to install. The computer it is installed on CAN NOT have any other scanners installed or they conflict. Didn't realize at installation time that my Brother printer was also a scanner, so I had to uninstall it. It's a pain to not have printing capabilities on that com...
Summary: I got this scanner yesterday. I've been trying to install it for over an hour. My computer has the WIndows 7 operating system and none of the installation instructions actually work on my computer.
Summary: The quality of the scans this thing makes is pretty good, as far as I can tell. However, actually using the scanner is kind of a terrible experience. If you like to scan your negatives shortly after getting them back from processing, don't get this scanner.
Summary: After about 10 months of use scanning my way through several thousands of negatives (BW & colour)I uncovered a "forgotten" cache of old Agfa 110 format 100ASA negatives. Plustek does not supply a 110 adaptor, however I was able to find a "pro-quality" one at [...].
