First time was worst, second was best

Summary: After spending too much time on what I thought was a deal, I couldn't get the device to calibrate correctly. I contacted the dealer as my schedule permitted to learn of an option to send it back for an exchange. After paying a few bucks (like $6) in shipping, I was quickly supplied a second device and this one works like the first should've. Now I can confess I shouldn't have waited so long to contact the dealer b/c the thing works great.
Summary: I got tired of using the "All in one" printers to scan -- they were very inconsistent and usually had poor quality scans. I purchased this because I saw it being used at a doctor's office.... I definitely recommend this -- it's easy to use, and the software is very simple. Scans take me about 10 seconds now vs. the 5 minutes it used to take with a All in one printer.
Summary: I returned this product immediately due to the quality of the printed copies I was getting. I tried all the different possible combinations when printing and each time got an unuseable print. Purchasing this product so that our school could begin consolidating our resources on certain topics, I was very disappointed that we weren't able to print good copies for other teachers to use in their classroom.
Summary: I bought this a year ago as a solution to my need to scan documents in an office the size of a phone booth. I hung it upside down under a shelf, dumped the supplied software and used Windows document scanner software and it works very well. The only trouble I have had is that the paper needs to be hand guided into the scanner else it tends to pull it in crookedly. I haven't complained as I doubt it was designed to work upside down!
Summary: Great scanner, great price. Searchable. I bought one for my office in an effort to go paperless. Since installed I have eliminated use of over 500 reams of paper. I am going to be purchasing the same scanner for my home use as well as purchasing multiple scanners for some of our other departments.
Summary: I love it. I used to have a huge old scanner that I rarely used and got rid of it. Then as a realtor, I found myself constantly running into the office to scan different things. Now I can scan from anywhere... home office, laptop in the car, etc. Great product. Thanks.
Summary: the day after i ordered this i went to manufacturer website only to learn that this scanner only allows you to use it on ONE COMPUTER. if you want to install it on another computer you have to BUY a license. I wanted to use it when i travel with laptop but if installed on home desktop i would NOT be able to use on laptop WITHOUT ANOTHER LICENSE. no where here in the ad does it mention that fact.
Summary: I bought this recently in attempt to go mostly paperless and have just scanned well over 100 documents. It's simplicity and ease of use is exceptional. The software does a fair job of managing documents but could be more flexible. Cons: * Expect problems with full page documents with very narrow margins. Sometimes you need to scan the page backwards in order to favor the other margin. * The document must absolutely be flat.
