Summary: Exactly what I needed to recapture photos to share with family. My computer did not support the operating system needed, but my sister had an older computer that was perfect. The cost of this product was well worth the money. To have a professional convert my slides to digital would have cost over $300.00.
Summary: This scanner does not even come close to doing what the ad says. My scanner does not look like the picture, but it is the model specified. I do not know if the picture is wrong or simply a different version of the same model. I had serious problems trying to install this device. I found an online forum which had others who had the same problems to find out how to install the device. There is absolutely no support for it at Arcsoft and I never found a Panadigital website.
Summary: I do not suggest this item to anyone!!! I purchased this item and was so excited to get it and thought I was getting a good deal well I was wrong when I tried the product it attempted to give me a Trojan horse virus on my computer and so I thought maybe its my computers anti virus protection because sometimes its a little to protective so I tried it on another computer and had the same problem!!!
Summary: If you, like I did, plan to upgrade to Windows 7, DON'T DO IT!!! If you still want to use your Pandigital PCNSCN03 Scanner. There are no drivers available. Just like HP, if you upgrade to Windows 7, then printers like the hp laserjet 1200 series or the hp photosmart 7550 won't work... Good luck!
Summary: After reading the other reviews I have to ask myself what the reviewers were expecting. As for me - I have slides from years ago that I wanted to get scanned. Also, my mother, who is 70 yr, had slides she wanted to scan. She is not computer literate so we needed something not too complicated. My brother purchased this PANSCN03 and we have loved it! It is easy to set up, quick and easy to use and, best of all, the pictures turn out great.
Summary: For Christmas gift suggestions I hinted I wanted a way to digitize our old photo negatives. My wife bought me this Pandigital scanner. First, the good. The product quality seems reasonable, and my slightly curved negatives fit nicely in the tray. Plus it doesn't take up a lot of room on my (already very full) desk. The software installed easily on Windows XP Pro and when I plugged in the USB cable the scanner was immediately recognized by the PC.
Summary: After much research, this looked like the best deal. However, it turned out that the only good thing about this scanner is the small footprint! Could not override the auto setting on the scanner so the color slides of landscapes had blue hills and aqua skies that were not there in the originals. There is good ArcSoft software to adjust them after the scanning but no amount of adjusting would reflect the original colors.
