Reliable

Murse, Amazon
26 January 2010
  • Summary: I have purchased 6 of these scanners for my medical office as we have gone to electronic charting (thank you federal government). These scanners have a small foot-print and are very simple to use. Their out-of-the-box to scan time is minimal. I would highly recommend them.

Work Horse

K. Krewer, Amazon
25 November 2009
  • Summary: I have this scanner at work and love it. I scan all the time, various documents at different levels of print quality and color. I works 99% of the time. You can adjust the quality, the number of pages, the fidelity of the scan etc. If you READ the directions you will be able to use all the features.

  • Summary: The scanner utility applet has a long-term counter, which in my case is 27,653 sheets, or twice that many pages (all duplex). So I guess I can write a review. My overall impression is quite favorable. I feel I have already gotten my money's worth. This scanner is fast.

Fair Scanner

Michael S., Newegg
31 May 2008
  • Summary: Quick Scan software which comes with it is demo version only (30 launches), which works very well but costs over $1000 for full license. Drivers are quite annoying with their service requests, which have to be reset through separate utility.
  • Pros: The double-feed prevention roller does an excellent job, which is the reason I bought this scanner. Handles thin and glossy paper (textbook pages) very well compared to HP7800.
  • Cons: Scan quality is poor due to stupid design. Plastic window over scan element is statically charged, so picks up paper dust which rapidly degrades image quality. Concave shape ensures it stays on the window, forcing frequent cleanings. (The HP7800 uses flat glass, which is basically self-cleaning a...

Nice Little Office Scanner

imageconn, shopping.com
8 November 2006
  • Excerpt: At Imaging Connections we tested this scanner and it is a nice little workhorse. We had no trouble feeding paper documents and insurance cards through the feeder. The scanner also comes bundled with a nice software package that makes scanning a breeze.
  • Pros: Compact design, scanning flexibility, great image quality and software bundle.
  • Cons: Not for high volume
