Summary: I loved this scanner, to a point. I shoot a mixture of 35mm and medium format film. Summary: After dealing with one dud they sent out to me, I got one that works and am quite pleased. I'm using this mainly for the slide scanning capability. The only issue I've had so far is with the software. They send you two programs you can use; Microscan and Silverfast.
Summary: I purchased this scanner so that I could scan old black & white and color negatives, and old black & white and color photographs. The results were great. The software that comes with it is easy to use and the Digital ICE works great if you want to restore your old photographs.
Summary: I bought this scanner based on its good reviews found on the internet. I needed to scan quite a few different images including newspaper, magazine, b&w photos, and color photos for a documentary film the results were excellent.
Outstanding quality just a little slower then I would like

Summary: Being a graphic artist/photographer I have used lots of different scanners that are out there, and Mircrotek scanners are some of the best on the market. The scans I get on this scanner are outstanding; the digital ICE photo print technology is a real time saver if you scan lots of prints.
Summary: The software that comes with this scanner is the weak point, it crashed numerous times. Don't use the CD, download everything from the website. It comes with a pretty complete manual, but the way this software is designed it needs it. They could spend more time explaining what they mean by a batch.
