Microtek M1 Scanner
18 June 2008
Summary: Much sharper scans then my Linotype Hell SaphirII. Better color and details in shadows and highlight fringe area. I also do wet scans with it using LUMINA scanning oil and shadow area detail and colors and contrast control are better yet!
Pros: Accurate Thumbnails, Consistent, Good Bit Depth, Good Resolution
Summary: The M1 Pro is a fine product that provides excellent quality digitized images of my old Kodachrome 35mm slides that date back to 1953. The software with the unit however required five "uploads" and five "uninstalls" before my new iMac would accept it on the sixth try. Further, I still haven't been able to upload the SilverFast Ai Studio software. The SilverFast is needed since the color calibration for the M1 Pro uses the SilverFast software...Grrrrr.
