Summary: I bought this thing to take to Taiwan with me, to help me in my traditional Chinese lessons. To my surprise and disappointment, LG does not recognize this language in it's OCR data base! (Oh, but it has over 180 other languages in its database!) What a waste of money! Other than that, it's just fine.
Summary: Found it at a great price and works for small things so it is worth investing in but if you need something to scan documents all day stick with an AIO or flatbed scanner.
Pros: So the ability to scan almost anywhere is awesome. The mouse works great as it supposed to as a mouse. The tracking is very smooth and works just about anywhere. The scanning software is very user friendly and easy to use. Works great on windows 8 and scans small things well.
Cons: The scanner is difficult to use. This lost 2 eggs for me because I have a laptop and have been trying to use this mouse to scan a standard 8.5x11 paper and its next to impossible to get it go scan straight. I had intentions to use this mouse so I didn't have to carry a scanner with me but for standard paper which I normally need to scan I can't so back to carrying the scanner.
Summary: First off; the scanning works very well, even on a Mac (MacOS X Mountain Lion). Unlike those old handscanners, this scanner really stitches your scan together very well, in a very good quality. Just keep in mind that lifting the mouse during scanning is a no-no. Unfortunately; this mouse is [for me] not a mouse I'd want to use on a daily basis. It feel very uncomfortable (I prefer mice like Logitech M510) and unnatural.
Wow, once I got past the installation it is great BUT

Summary: Below are my original comments. I have tried to use it repeatedly to scan and copy excerpts from paper documents. Although I can adapt to the size and buttons of this mega-mouse, it is the cord that ruins it for me. It makes it too unwieldy and any efficiency I would otherwise gain using it is lost. It is better for me to scan all the documents to PDFs and then copy images or markup with PDF Annotator.
Summary: The Scanner Mouse is good but not great. It has a small learning curve. The USB cable that it is attached to seems to get in the way. It is easier to use on large documents such as 8x11 paper and not that easy to use on Calling Cards, receits, etc. The ideal Scanner Mouse would be wireless.
Summary: There are mixed reviews of this product which possibly revolve around the issue of 'video memory' . If ,like me , your computer has limited video memory then this product flashes up a warning that you are running it on less than recommended video memory . I went ahead and tried it anyway and was , at first , disappointed as others have been .
Summary: Cannot seem to get on with it, even though I pass it over a page carefully the scanned writing seems to go haywire, holding the page steady and scannning at same time is tricky perhaps I just need more practice!
