It is easy to install and use

Catherine J. Oliver, Amazon
14 October 2014
  • Summary: I've had this scanner for a couple of years. It is easy to install and use. The problem is with the driver updates. I now have Windows 8.1 and the Kodak 8.1 drivers won't articulate with my computer. What is worse, the company's tech support staff will not help unless I pay money for their assistance. One employee told me I could purchase a contract for $53 dollars or pay $250 dollars for software support..

Don't expect any support

MRC, Amazon
4 September 2014
  • Summary: I have an i1120 which has been working fine on Win7 64 bit but software now hangs. 3 page document in feeder, it will feed first two pages but then hangs. Called Kodak support who asked me to email in, which I did. Here's the reply I got. Hi Mike, Unfortunately your warranty has been expired, if you have an extended warranty then please provide me with the documentation. If not, then please get in contact with your local support.

POS because of software

jimmy, Amazon
13 March 2014
  • Summary: This thing was advertised to do exactly what I needed. However, they did not say it takes special software to make it work. That makes it an expensive POS!

User Review

goodbyeheadache, Walmart
27 March 2013
  • Summary: I had really high hopes for this scanner. I unpacked it, loaded disc, hooked it up...nothing. There was no icon on desktop to click to use the scanner. I reloaded the disc, nothing. But I did get one thing... now my computer constantly has a pop up box stating there is a corrupted program on it, and yes that pop up started right after I installed the kodak scanmate disc.

Real Kodak i1120 test results non biased

SL 3508, Amazon
10 September 2012
  • Summary: let's start out this Kodak i1120 only has a "30 day" Warranty & slow boot up. I demo'd this Kodak i1120 against a canon DR C125 & Epson GT S50 all new out of the box no adjustments. the Kodak has UN-necessary removable enter & exit paper trays in a office environment the exit tray is very vulnerable to breakage. the Kodak i1120 will not scan Business cards forget about a license or similar. the Kodak i1120 claims 25PPM scans. actual count was 12PPM.

Windows 7 no good

IT Admin "Microsoft Bob", Amazon
4 October 2011
  • Summary: This would be a nice scanner if it wasn't for the Kodak software. You have to jump through too many hoops to get it to work in windows 7. There are two buttons on the front of it for scanning, while these are fun to look, it would be nice to be are able to get them to work for scanning. You can manually go in and select the options, that are supposed to be controlled by the buttons, in the kodak software and the software works.

DO NOT BUY THIS SCANNER!

Matt Freitas, Amazon
27 December 2010
  • Summary: I bought this scanner due to it's attractive price a little over a year ago and i'm planning to throw it in the trash as soon as i can get a new one. First big issue, scanning software. It barely works on Windows 7, even with their updated windows 7 software and drivers. If you have windows 7 make sure you are using a 3rd party software that handles your scanning device. Second, feeder is terrible.

Definately not a heavy duty office machine

Dr. Stuart S. Rosenkrantz, Amazon
25 July 2008
  • Summary: I have been using scanners for many years the build quality on this unit is terrible. This is definiteky not suitable for an office. The unit I received did not work straight out of the box. Cheap plastic components. Poor image quality. Terrible support. Avoid this product.I will be going back to canon scanners. Do not waste your time with this machine. Poorly written instructions cumbersome setup .
