It may be because of bad mechanical design

Aung W. Tin "TWA", Amazon
2 November 2014
  • Summary: This scanner makes noticeable rather irritating loud motor/fan noise in my quiet office room. The front paper tray/cover came broke loose so the cover cannot be shut closed. It may be because of bad mechanical design. Scan copy quality is alright. Scan speed it fast.

Don't Buy! Device won't boot up and there's no way to re-install software!

Paul, Amazon
16 September 2014
  • Summary: It was a great product while it worked but unfortunately it suddenly stopped working after about 14 months. Currently the device won't boot up properly and there is no way to re-install the OS/software seemingly because it is "embedded".

Don't Buy! Runs Windows XP for an OS and Kodak won't update it

Christopher J. Mcgrath, Amazon
25 April 2014
  • Summary: We have one of these at my office and the product works great. The problem is it runs a version of Windows XP for an OS and Kodak support told me "the business manager did confirm extended support is available from Microsoft for XP but Kodak does not have any plans to purchase this extended support...

Nice when it works, but unreliable

Silly Fellow, Amazon
24 March 2014
  • Summary: We purchased this machine in May 2013 to use in our business office. When finally configured (the administration portal is extremely frustrating and can ONLY be done through a PC, i.e., you cannot configure this machine directly using its screen), the machine works very nicely.

Pricy machine that constantly break

T. Le "tech guy", Amazon
28 April 2010
  • Summary: This machine have to be the worst I ever have to support and recommend. Kodak's older model, the one 100s, is a true work horse, where the 500s is a constant break and place. It have a high failure rate lasting only 2 months and have to replace it 3 times.

A nice evolution from Scan Station 100

small business guy, Amazon
31 October 2009
  • Summary: We have used a Scan Station 100 Plus for a few years, and when we wanted an additional unit ordered the Scan Station 500 (ss500) instead. A very preliminary review, but what you are buying here is a world class paper feeder, attached to a pc with a touch screen, that does OCR and outputs ready to...

Fast and flexible... with some limitations

Kevin Christy "kkchristy", Amazon
31 May 2009
  • Summary: This unit is a fast operator, and with the ability to scan once and do any combination of thumb drive storage, local USB hard drive storage, network folder storage, email, fax, print, and FTP, what's not to like? The OCR logic is fantastic, enabling us to create text-searchable PDFs.

  • Excerpt: Долго искал сканер для документа оборота . Главным критерием был возможность сканирования документов разного размера и формата в автоматическом режиме . Хочется сказать , что не так просто найти сканер с такими возможностями !
  • Pros: Качество сканирования !

Goede vervanging/ snelle levering

Yerc, CentralPoint
27 March 2013
