Summary: I bought this scanner to mass-scan photos. Here is my quick overview. Works fast, at 600dpi, you can scan about 10 photos per minute. Requires cleaning frequently, plan on running cleaning paper every 30 photos, and stopping to clean at least every 100. Summary: With thousands upon thousands of family photos to scan it made sense for us to buy this instead of paying a service way more than this scanner cost us. Using a flatbed for that many photos of course isn't even an option. I'm still amazed every time I watch this plow through a stack of photos. It really does make short work of your scanning, even if your stack of photos are not all the same size it just pulls them through and there they are right on the computer..
Summary: Shortly put, this scanner is amazing albeit pricey. It's exactly what we wanted - you can take groups of photos of any orientation/size, and just put them into the feeder. It really does scan at about 30photos/min at 300dpi; we scanned at 600dpi and it probably got through almost 20 per minute.
