Summary: I've probably scanned about 400 photos so far and it's done the job. They don't come up crystal clear, but what can you expect for $40. I follow the instructions and clean with the included attachment after about 100 photos. If I notice any lines prior, I'll clean it then. I also keep a can of air and a soft cloth to help keep lint away from the opening.
Summary: For scanning a lot if snapshots this scanner cannot be beat. So much faster than my flat bed scanner. Only problem I had was the card that came with it Dodd not work. Bought a new sd card and it worked great. I have scanned over 500 snapshots already and re organized into smaller boxes for easy storage.
Summary: Of course nobody reads instructions. They open something. It appears obvious what to do, so we all just start without reading. Luckily, thanks to another reviewer here on Amazon, I knew to clean each photo before scanning, and to clean the scanner before starting and then every 50 photos or so. Doing that, I'm having pretty good luck with this. Maybe 1 out of 10 photos has a thin white line running across it (a result of dust).
