Great product, wouldn't have bought it brand new, but for the price great!

  • Summary: For the age and the price that I got it at it works awesome. Takes a little bit to get it set up, but once it's set up it works great. I use this to scan all my documents at home so I can get rid of any unnecessary clutter (medical bills, etc.) Already scanned over a thousand documents, love how easy it is to scan. Only down side is the scanning set up is a little tricky especially if you are not familiar with technology.

Ok, but no Windows 7 64 bit drivers, so very limited in use.

whiteivory, Ebay
22 June 2013
  • Summary: First off: does not work with 64 bit operating systems. NO drivers for that. Here's why... Purchased this for work using a Windows 7 64-bit operating system. Installed the newest drivers (3.3) on Kodak's site. Unfortunately, the only drivers that Kodak provides are 32-bit. It will NOT work with Windows 7 Fax/Scanning application.

There is design flaw with the document return tray but it is very reliable.

hotsuen, Ebay
10 December 2012
  • Summary: I purchased this scanner to replace the one that I purchased 8 years ago. This scanner is fast, and worked for 8 years without a hitch. Pros: Fast, reasonably reliable, easy to use. Cons: Software is confusing. It does not index. You can only specify batch names, and is very confusing when it comes to regenerating document numbers. The document return tray is hinged on two tiny plastic tabs, with no support. Any accidental pressure on it will break the tab.

fast scanner, jams up though

27 January 2012
  • Summary: Our company is requiring our documents to be scanned, so we bought this scanner a while back. It scans fairly quickly, double-sided. But, there isn't much accompanying documents to help out...ie...not very user friendly. But, the scanning is clear.

Kodak i40 Win 7 64 bit

Richard T Vernick, Amazon
28 September 2011
  • Summary: They have a Twain Windows 64 bit driver that works well with Paperport 14 and Windows 7. I have been using this on a 32 bit system for several years. Works will for documents. Need to pair with a flatbed for photos and books.

Drivers ok for Win7 32 bit, BUT WHAT ABOUT SCANNING SOFTWARE?

Joel Nossoff, Amazon
11 August 2010
  • Summary: Can anyone suggest SCANNING SOFTWARE with a reasonable price (under $100) for the Kodak i40 scanner with WIN 7? I have enjoyed the speed of my i40 scanner connected to my win XP computer. Now I am installing it on my new WIN 7 OS computer. Installation CD cannot be used to install the scanner, had to go to the Kodak web site for a version that works with WIN 7 32 bit. That worked. So far so good.

No 64bit support!

Christopher Watson, Amazon
9 February 2010
  • Summary: All of our office PC are running 64 bit Windows. Kodak doesn't have any support for 64bit for this scanner rendering it a expensive boat anchor.

Great Scanner for 32 bit versions of Windows

blair89, Amazon
4 December 2009
  • Summary: I had purchased several of these scanners for use in an office. The scanner is perfect, and a bargain for its performance, if you are using a 32 bit version of windows. Be aware however that the i40 does not support 64 bit versions of windows 7. I subsequently acquired a pair of Kodak i1220 scanners for my 64 bit windows 7 machines because of my good experience with the i40 and they are absolutely amazing and perform flawlessly.
