Unimpressive results, old software and no Windows 7 x64 compatibility

Summary: I bought this device several years ago, and it worked (just about) adequately under XP. At that time I didn't use Outlook, and it wasn't that easy to get the contact information out of the software and into a useful format without it. The quality of the optical character recognition wasn't fantastic anyway, needing a lot of manual correction. I'm not sure whether the PocketScan really saved me any time over and above manual entry from scratch.
Summary: I am not impressed with this item, it has proved to be more a hinderance than asset. Firstly, on installation, I was conned into paying £28 to download the 'required' software. This proved to be a virus which disabled all USB ports. Laptop had to be taken for repair. Secondly, the scan quality is not as good as one might hope. The software is not user friendly; it is slow and combersome requiring manual input of information not scanned clearly.
Summary: I have accumulated masses of cards at work and was going to buy another folder but decided to scan the cards in. Once I received the device and installed the software I was amazed at how quickly and accurately this device worked. From the dozen or so cards done so far it has been brilliant and very easy to use. The downside is I now have a couple of hundred cards to scan!
Summary: Excellent product - when received as paid for Express delivery but product did not arrive. Advised sent by Royal Mail first class post which I suggest is not express. Was then advised sent by Recorded Delivery and arrived promptly. Optical recognition somewhat suspect at times.
Summary: Don't buy this item! I have had it for a few months and every couple of weeks another bulb fails to work. There are 8 LED bulbs and I am now down to just 3 working. It produces very little light and the remaining bulbs tend to flicker occasionally. Waste of money!
Summary: I purchased one from 'Addonsworld' in November 2009 and ten weeks later two of the eight LED lights have failed - they cannot be replaced - I am waiting for a replacement/refund from the reseller. I would advise others to consider a more reliable product. The flexible 'gooseneck' could be more stable but is acceptable.
