good for rough notes; not good for making documents
28 December 2013
Summary: the technology is in developing stage. it solves half of the problem. taking rough notes is ok as even if it has something missing or wrong you will probably make out. But if you want to prepare something for draft, you have edit it quite significantly. i required it for making some notes which i can share with larger group.
Summary: Order 1 unit from Amazon, received a defective unit. Communicate with IRIS directly for replacement, they ask me pay for the return unit postage to Belgium. Plus, after their technical team verify the defective unit, only will ship a new unit out to me. I decided to perform RMA with Amazon. At least Amazon ship the unit prior I return the unit. Regret to buy it. Don't know the pen can last for 1 year or not. Lost confidence with the product quality.
Summary: I'm trying to use the product for typed documentation. It is not accurate. The disc I received failed. I utilized the help desk repeatedly. They provided me with an updated version. It still doesn't work well at all. I planned to return it but seem to have missed it by a day. All in all I believe it was a waste of my money. I'm very dissapointed.
Summary: Iris is nearly impossible to get a hold of so don't expect anything in the way of support. We purchased this item because Iris was offering a "rebate". After months of waiting and trying to contact the company-the rebate never happened. The phone number for the rebate was out of service and Iris intentionally makes it almost impossible to get a hold of anyone through their website. Very disappointed.
Summary: I bought this item thinking and hoping it would make my life easier when having to copy text out of the book for reference instead of typing. I'm truely disapointed. I either had a defective one or I did not have the patience to learn. I played and configured it over 30 minutes and I kept on getting errors. I would recommend relying on the traditional methods that never fails. It more of a pain and it takes longer to correct than to type.
Summary: This product seemed such a good idea, and I bought it based on successful use by several reviewers. After a month of trying I have not been able to get acceptable scans. Scans are usually a jumble of symbols; sometimes I get an intelligible sentence with lots of "typos"; and occasionally I get a clean phrase or even a whole line. What comes out seems like sheer luck. And the on-line help does not offer coaching.
Summary: I purchased this last summer 2008 - thinking it would be a great help in college. But it does not scan from textbooks. True it will scan from paper (after you learn how) but I needed & wanted to scan items from my textbooks. Would not work. So I have had to type or copy & print - when I really just wanted the information on my computer. Thought it would save me time.
Summary: I received this in hopes that I could scan text from books to create concise notes to study from quickly and accurately, I was wrong though. This product did not scan text accurately, actually did not come close and while it is a great concept I am highly dissappointed in the performance of this pen scanner especially at a cost of about $180.
