Waste of time and money

Summary: Waste and here is why. They make the hardware and software comparable to each other--ONLY. You cannot use the scanner without their software, and vice versa. And, they limit the number of installs you can do with their software. SO even if you stumble through a year of so with the device, if you install on a desktop, and laptop, and then replace it--as most of us do, you are SOL with these guys. They want you to buy it all over again. Don't do it.
Summary: I TRIED THIS PRODUCT BUT IT WAS DIFFICULT TO GET TO WORK MANUAL WAS >>> WELL I COULDNT FIND MAY HAVE BEEN ME. I RETURNED TI AND BOUGHT A SCANSNAP. IT IS VERY GOOD AND EASY TO YOU. DOWNLOADED THE MANUAL IN PDF AND IT WAS EASY TO FOLLOW. I WAS SUPPRISED WITH THE ATTENTION THAT FUJITSU GAVE ME WHEN I HAD A QUESTION. THE ANSWWER IT QUICK ADN UNDERSTANDABLE AND 3 DAYS LATER I GOT A CALL FROM A FUJITSU REP ASKING IF I NEED ANY ADDITIONAL INFO ABOUT THE SNAPSCAN.
Summary: I needed a portable scanner for my line of work because I'm always traveling and often need to fax documents back to the office. After 5 consecutive $20 runs of faxing, we decided to get the Iriscan Executive to save on faxing costs! I had a little bit of trouble getting the software set up with the serial number and tried calling the customer service number... no one ever returned my call or email. Luckily, I did figure it out on my own.
Summary: As a power user of scanning products, I decided to try this IriScan portable scanner. I've used just about every other brand out there, including Visioneer - which is comparable in size and speed. The scanner works fine, however we've found in all 13 that we own that we must calibrate them every few weeks or suffer the line problem. The support SUCKS!!
Summary: It took me a while to actually read the short manual, as I couldn't get it to scan worth seeing. One must run the calibration sheet through it first, after that Acrobat took care of everything. For mobile use, I like it more then a unit that scans to a memory card as I don't know what I've scanned until the card is brought to a computer .
Summary: Despite seeing others having issues with the software, I went ahead and purchased this. I should have known better! It's been 6 months since we purchased this and still have yet to use it. The software is continually crashing, has an error and automatically shuts down. My husband and his friend, who is an IT professional, tried to work on this and couldn't get it to work. I know my last resort is to call Customer Service, but we all know how much fun THAT is!
Summary: I spent months trying to find the correct scanner to use for documents and photos left after several deaths in the family. After 2 years I am ready to tackle the project and looked forward to setting up and using the scanner. This company is very clear about how you may and may not use their product(s) (software and hardware), however using it is very unclear. The photo suite directions tell you to insert the disk to download to your computer.
Summary: I received the Iriscan Executive 2 in a timely manner. Coming out of the box it looked great, light weight, small enough to fit in my carrier - perfect. That was until I began reading the instructions for installing the software. Hum....not easy. Hum...software that came with the package was previously opened, the packaging for the scanner was actually ripped. That was enough for me. I didn't purchase a previously owned item.
Summary: Works with Vista and Windows 7 without problems. Setting it up was very easy. Scanning speed is average using 300 dpi. I like the dual buttons, one to send directly to a file as a jpg image or to a document reader where you can make corrections afterwards. The scanner is light and the usb cable is included and is powered by it.
