Item was returned BUT fairly good Customer Service
30 January 2012
Summary: I tried to order this scanner directly from IRIS using a PCWorld discount code ($149) but was shipped the wrong scanner (MY FAULT). Customer Service could only be contacted through email. Eventually they did send an RMA. The scanner I recieved was returned. It took 1 week - 10 days to issue credit AFTER they recieved the scanner and verified its condition.
Summary: I was surprised to receive an email from the company that makes this with a $30 coupon, even more surprised that the price was better than on Amazon and that Amazon only has one review. I only use Macs and don't really use the software that comes with the product. I didn't yet test the battery life, just got the scanner today.
Summary: I bought this scanner hoping for a reasonable Windows 7 compatible solution for trying to a keep a paper-less home office with regards to personal papers. I have a Fujitsu ScanSnap with IRIScan software which was wonderful for fast multi-sheet high quality scanning straight to PDF on Windows XP, but almost immediately obsolete when Vista came out and turned out to have terrible customer service.
