Summary: This is very expensive for such a piece of junk. Most of the time the scanner doesn't pick up the paper and, when it does, it ends up going in crooked. Then finding the scans on the computer is very convoluted. The scanner crashes constantly. I am fairly tech-savvy and this scanner completely baffled me. Avoid at all costs.
Summary: I go into situations where I have to scan documents in a hurry and get out fast. No, I am not into industrial sabotage. Previously I was photographing the documents. I really loved the scanner, until one day when it just stopped working, less than two months after I bought it, but after the store warranty ran out. I would like to try another one, but after getting burned one this one, I am worried about even trying another brand.
Summary: Item: Iriscan Express 2. This is a piece of junk! I wanted something that I could scan photos while in Utah to take home and sort. Can't get the thing installed; can't get hold of anyone at the company to talk to about what was wrong with the install; the one thing that did install - now I can't get uninstalled because it "runs in the background". I emailed the technical support indicated in the company webpage, but still no response.
Item was returned BUT fairly good Customer Service
30 January 2012
Summary: I tried to order this scanner directly from IRIS using a PCWorld discount code ($149) but was shipped the wrong scanner (MY FAULT). Customer Service could only be contacted through email. Eventually they did send an RMA. The scanner I recieved was returned. It took 1 week - 10 days to issue credit AFTER they recieved the scanner and verified its condition.
Summary: I bought it cause they were offering it for $50 off, "Limited Time Only!" Right, I had a bad feeling even before I opened the box. After charging the thing up, which took about 4 hours, I tried but failed to get the thing to even scan a test strip. It just would not operate. Yes, I followed the instructions right up the the point where I repacked everything and mailed it back for a refund.
Summary: This product seems to be a beta version. The driver is half adequate and the scan quality and recognition of business cards is terrible. The scanning is so slow and cumbersome as to make the scanner practically worthless. IRIScan has brought a product on to the market before is was in state to be used.
Summary: I was searching high and low for a truly portable scanner and came across this beauty. It scans documents, business cards and photos beautifully. I was to see it came with a 1GB SD memory card and internal memory allowing me to scan hundreds of cards at the CES trade show with plenty of room to spare. It also comes with great OCR software to convert my documents and business cards into usable files that are editable.
Summary: My work involves document scanning at work sites and uploading as PDF's. Cant say enough great things about this scanner. Excellent scan quality for documents, perfect portablity, good battery life, easy to covert images to pdf. Exactly what I was looking for!!!
Summary: This portable scanner is the greatest thing since sliced bread! This is the perfect tool for genealogists or anyone who has shoeboxes full of pictures to scan. It is so easy and very fast. The internal rechargeable battery lasts a long time in between charges. The picture quality is great too. You can scan documents as well and then convert them to PDF or word files if you want.
