Summary: So far I have scanned 150 slides and each one is a perfect replica of the original . The machine selects the best illumination and color but you can adjust. Transferred to my computer without problems. Highly recommend. I gave it four stars instead of five because I have not tried to duplicate any prints. I am thinking I will not have a problem there.
Excerpt: Overall this does a nice job, it's easy to scan photos, negatives take a bit longer but you do 4 at a time once you load the strip into the carrier. If you have negatives I would recommend scanning them rather than the photo, the colors are more vibrant and have more clarity. My unit appears to have dust particles somewhere within the slide/negative scanning mechanism with no apparent way to clean them out.
Excerpt: The time for scanning is wonderful! The rest is no good. The unit is very cheap plastic. Can break very easy. The worst part is that when it takes the scan of the photo the bulb puts a halo right in the center of the photos. The first few are fine, but after 5 mins of scanning it all goes to pot. Not worth the investment if it ruins the photos. : ( Was very disappointed.
Cons: Bulb Adds Halo To Photos, Cheap Plastic, Dust In It Too Bad
Summary: Very easy to use and easy to connect and communicate with the computer. Quality of the copied photo often needs a little tweaking. Difficult to impossible to copy prints that are not the exact standard sizes of the holders. If they are too large they do not fit in and if they are a too small they fall out of the holder and into the scanner! The trays for slides or negatives work well but they only hold 4 slides or 6 negatives at a time.
Summary: My Uncle passed leaving approximately 1000 negatives. The rest of the family just wanted to throw everything out, instead I saved the negatives and put them through the scanner. Most commonly you can blow a 35 mm negative up to 5"x7" and still keep it clean. After using the maximum setting, I got very good prints at 8"x10". Absolutely love this. The negatives that were scratched I now have electronically stored so I can send them to the camera shop to clean them up.
