Summary: I was able to get it up and running with no problem though I read the directions 3 times. Now my problem is that I cannot find the pictures on my computer. A lot of work if they are not there. If anyone knows how to find the pictures PLEASE let me know as it is flustrating.
Summary: I've been wanting for some time a device to capture slides, so I was happy to find this on sale. While the device is easy to use, and the copying and transferring are quick, the device's software is way too minimal. First, it needs calibrating (whatever that is) with each use, and can be done only with the supplied photo editing software. (Other than this use, I don't need another such software on my computer!
Pros: Accurate Thumbnails, Easy to use, Small
Cons: Driver software is LAME, Must be calibrated, Not Versatile
Summary: My use of the ION Slides-2-PC 35mm Slide and Film Scanner is to scan, or digitize, old color slides onto my computer. It works well in doing that, to my satisfaction. The only 'negative' about the product is that the installed software causes the term 'Photo Impression Photo Viewer' to show up at the top of every photo when pictures are accessed on the computer, and there is less versatility in 'zooming' a viewed photo larger or smaller.
Pros: Accurate Thumbnails, Consistent, Easy to use, Fast
Summary: I would recommend this for someone who wants a low end scanner for their old 35mm negatives. It does a decent job and is fun to play with and explore old photo negatives. The down side is that it doesn't really do rolls or larger negatives. So if someone knows a better device, let me know.
Summary: I received the "ION* SLIDES 2 PC" and it took me about 15 minutes to load the software and hook up the copier. I have owned the unit for four days and have copied all the slides that I own. I haven't looked at my slides for years because my projector is broken. Now I look at them on my computer anytime I want to. I will be sending some slides from Korea to a couple old Air Force buddies from 1967-68.
Pros: Accurate Thumbnails, Consistent, Fast, Good Resolution
Summary: I love this product. I bought it to send photos using the negatives, and to make CD's of them to have handy. My parents also have slides 60 years and older, from a 35mm camera, that I wanted to be able to look at again, and to send, and preserve. (I am using this to make CD Christmas presents of the slides taken when we were kids, for my siblings.) This product is so easy to use, and is easier-and smaller-than using the scanner on my printer.
Summary: I have had 750 slides, taken 43 years ago. I have always carried them with me. They survived a divorce, 4 moves, and a basement flood. I have scanned about half and can not wait to transfer them to DVD's.
Pros: Accurate Thumbnails, Consistent, Fast, Good Bit Depth, Good Resolution
