Great scanner

Lucas P K, Amazon
23 December 2013
  • Summary: This scanner is easy to use and produces great jpeg files. At one point my scanner took a tumble, and the glass for the scanner got cracked; even with the crack, it still works as well as it did before. The battery life on this product is not ideal, but I do use product heavily. The only thing I would improve upon this product is having the option of creating a pdf file. All in all, I am glad I purchased this.

Don't Waste Your Time or Money

Anonymous, Amazon
28 June 2013
  • Summary: I used this to try to scan 4 books and it was very inaccurate. Like some of the other reviewers posted, it takes a while to get the hang of using this scanner. You have to be consistent in the speed with which you drag the device over the pages otherwise you'll end up with distorted text that is then made difficult for the OCR software to recognize.

beware of warranty - only good for 90 days.

George M Washburn, Amazon
27 March 2013
  • Summary: purchased my ion copy cat scanner a little over a year ago for only $60. used it very infrequently until recently. scans were good. then all of sudden it only displays USB - will not scan at all. contacted customer support and they stated that there was indeed something wrong with it and was then informed that it is under warranty for only 90 days. basically I spent $60 on a 1GB micro SD card...

Your cell phone camera may be better

Scott E. Bradley "80's Kid", Amazon
1 March 2013
  • Summary: Use this as a black and white emergency quickie, too lazy to go up stairs to your other scanner device only. Rough scans. Ez to use, but if you are in the field you better scan 3 times and hope for a decent one. Archive quality only. Example... archive a W2 or insurance document would be a NO. Trust it to scan and archive a receipt...maybe. Scans are jpeg, you can use Evernote for free to organize and tag..free download.

Welcome addition

Grum, Amazon
28 February 2013
  • Summary: Since purchasing this item I have not had much need to use it. However, on the odd occasion we have needed a scanner it's worked perfectly and we've had no problems with it. Packed mine in with my laptop and am sure it's going to be a valuable portable item.

Becky from New Orleans got it it right!

Jim Peck, Amazon
12 January 2013
  • Summary: I cannot imagine getting started with this scanner being any more simple. Every thing you need is included (I even had the micro chip included with my order!). The price for value is so much better than any other handheld scanner I reviewed. My sense is that it performs better than the competition and costs less. I use the scanner for genealogy research and am able to copy documents from libraries and museums much more efficiently than ever before.
