Not a good solution for going paperless
Fair Dox, Amazon
5 July 2010
Summary: Let me start by saying that I had high expectations. I wanted a solution that scan, name the document automatically using keyword detected by OCR then file it according to rules that I can set. And also detect if a duplex scan (both side) is needed.
Summary: Do not buy this scanner if you are expecting to scan anything longer than 14". It will error out and says Paper Jam. I contacted HP and was told that indeed the maximum scan size is 14" and that the document that says it's 34" was an error.
Summary: Purchased this scanner two weeks ago. It comes with no software to install. Unit installed just fine on my first desk top computer. When I tried to use it on my laptop the software does not allow you to scan to a PDF. Only allows Jpg, Tiff and other formats.
Summary: Quality of scans is bad, it scans like an 90s scanner, both the balck and white and color images it produced were blurred and had to jack up resolution to 400dpi for colors to get a roughly good image which is unacceptable due to the big file size.
