Summary: That HP ScanJet is absolutely awesome. I'm reviewing and filing decades of heretofore unseen negatives, old photographss, and transparencies from the 1950s-1960s. Not to mention filing scanned documents; very easy to use, as I'm in my mid 70s.,but using the HP Photo Scanner is a pleasure. Five staers!
Summary: Worthless!!! this should be no stars, but the software wont let me select, 'none'.Tried to install the software in Vista, Windows 7 and 8.1. Won't install and there is no HP patch or update that I could find. Good buy if you want a door stop, useless for anything else.

Summary: Unable to install software onto my Windows Vista computer even though the thing is suppose to operate on nearly any Windows platform since XP. Installation CD did not Autorun. Installation error message whether using CD software or downloading software from HP website. Website useless - no live support. Forums did not answer question of installation. Instructions lacked explanations of anything, particularly installation. HP has gone severely downhill over the years.
Summary: The software/driver won't store your changes to its default settings between scans. To begin with, the default settings of the software (through hp, or when you try to scan via import through photoshop) are set to overexposed tones/brightness and extreme saturation. Should you wish to have a scan with no applied settings so that you can make changes through photoshop or any other image manip.program, you have to go to each tab of the adjustments window and change the...
