Summary: Bought used one for under $40. What you expect? It can scan negatives! PROS - Can scan native films CONS - can scan two negatives at one time. Files are way too big. Not good quality. Would not recommend to any one.
Summary: I am very happy with the purchase. It produces excellent clarity images and comes with a great software to match it. The body is slim unlike any other cannon scanners with slide facility. Produces very good film scanned images.
Summary: This is a work-horse of a scanner. I looked for this particular model to replace the same scanner that is getting old, beginning to make a noise, and definitely on borrowed time. Since going to a paper-less file system, I use my scanner extensively and every day.
Summary: The HP Scanjet G3010 is a great entry level scanner for a great price. It will exactly perform as it was meant to be--scanning pictures, films and documents. The resolution is great for an entry level scanner 4800 x 9600 dpi and the USB connectivity is just plain convenient.
Summary: I have Windows Vista, a laptop with 2 gig memory and I just purchased the G3010 scanner to see if it could do what i wanted. I have many old photographs that needed to be scanned to include them in a web album. I was very surprised that it worked great with no problems for what I wanted it for.
Summary: I bought this scanner a few months ago, and have not been disappointed. I am running Windows Vista Home, and after inserting the disk that was shipped with the scanner I was up and running. No problems with the Windows drivers as some have mentioned.
Summary: When I received this scanner I hooked it up to Windows Vista. It worked beautifully the first time. I had read reviews to not buy it for Vista but I didn't have any problems at all. Very easy to set up and I was using it immediately. I get excellent copies.
