Suppose to be NEW Yet Out of Warranty

Sign Man, Amazon
23 September 2009
  • Summary: I was registering all my HP devices when I discover some surprising information. I had brought a new HP scanjet 8300 in June 2009. The HP site I was registering the devices indicated the warranty for the scanner had expired in November 2008, 6 months before I bought it.

IGot2P, Amazon

  • Summary: HP just recently came out with driver version 13.0 for Windows 7 and it is lacking. There is only one descreen feature in the driver thus it will not let you descreen at 145 lpi for artwork or old postcards, etc.

What happened HP???

Anonymous, Newegg
17 February 2008
  • Summary: This one got sent back. I'm going to try a Canon 8800F next.

Should be more special for $$

Anonymous, Newegg

  • Pros: Nice and sturdy -- heavy lid and solid base. Film templates looked pretty comprehensive and useful. Legal size bed.
  • Cons: No faster than $100 scanner on normal res, bed misaligned by 1/8 inch. I returned it at a loss, since it was as big as a Buick and wasn't any faster, the whole reason I got it.

  • Summary: the scan speed is'nt fast as what i thought. the scan speeds depend on the dip settings but not b&w, gray or color settings. the scan time is measured from clicking accept icon until yes-no window appearing. 200dpi:8sec 300dpi:13sec 600dpi:37sec
  • Pros: accurate focus, 4800 dpi, scan films.
  • Cons: big size, heavy weight, slow scan speed.
