Summary: This has worked very well for me for many years. I've used it with Window XP, Windows Vista (64-bit), and Windows 7 (64-bit) and i have never had a problem with it. I can't find any USB 3.0 Flatbed Legal-Sized scanners so i expect to keep this for many more years.
Summary: I use windows XP and although unlike others this scanner does a fine job as to image quality, that's only the case when it works. I've had to unload and reload the software for this so many times I've lost count.
Summary: This is an absolutely GREAT scanner for the cost. Although an older model, the scanner works fully thru Vista. Origionally sold for about $1200-1400 when first introduced so any price under a couple hundred is a bargain. Document feeder works well and you could not want more scanning options.
Summary: The scanner was exactly as described. It is an older model and scanning capabilities were limited. I am doing some volunteer work for my church and didn't want to spend a lot of money. The price was right for me. Looking back, I probably should have gone for a newer model, but this works fine.
Summary: Using this scanner is a frustrating experience. The current software from HP's site does not work well with Mac OS X. There is an option to descreen, but it doesn't do anything. The descreening option is either on or off, there are no parameters to set.
Summary: I have windows xp. I installed the software, connected this scanner via USB 2.0, and have had nothing but misery since. For example, while I am writing this I am waiting the 5 minutes it takes to do a negative scan job using the HP software. Everything about this scanner is slow.
Summary: I use a scanner daily in my work as a college teacher, as I put most of my teaching materials online. I was impressed with the specs of this scanner, revews were positive, and was happy for about two weeks. Then I bought a new Mac G5, OS 10.3 Panther.
Summary: I've had this scanner for over 3 years and I've never got a decent scan out of it. I've had to play around in Photoshop to make anything usable, but detail in never there. Everytime I scan I have to unplug it from the mains then replug it to restart it so that the software can find it.
Summary: I previously left a warning that this scanner was incompatible with Mac OS X Panther (10.3.x). However, HP has just released a driver for this scanner, and all compatibilty issues seem to be resolved.
