  • Summary: best thing about is the auto feeder, the draw back is lack of current software from hp, they have the drivers, but not the soft ware.

Make sure it has a power supply!

doug13out, Ebay
5 April 2010
  • Summary: I would love to use this thing but it doesn't have a power supply. I know HP makes great devices. I use HP printers almost exclusively and my review is more about reading and understanding what it is you are buying. This one didn't come with a power supply so I'm trying to find one. I bought one and the ad reads like this: "AC Power Adapter Supply 4 HP ScanJet 5500cxi 5530 5550C". But you know what?

Photo Feeder? Hello?

hepcat "hepcat", Amazon
19 March 2010
  • Summary: Anyone know how to get the photo feeder to work these days? I think I have the latest driver, but I cannot find any way to run the photo feeder at all. I've used it in the past with some success (pre 10.3). But now I'm running 10.5 and it seems as though the photo feeder is no longer supported by the driver! Does anyone know how to run it?

I LOVE this scanner and am sad it's no longer available.

Lauren Laserone "thelaserone", Amazon
12 September 2006
  • Summary: I LOVE this scanner and am sad it's no longer available. The stack-feeder for prints is awesome. I loved being able to put a stack of photos in, press a button, walk away, and come back and all photos were scanned and saved. My scanner no longer works but it's because we took it apart to clean the underside of the glass and must not have put it back together right. "My bad." Anyway, now that I want to replace mine and this is no longer available, I'm quite sad.

zero stars not 1 star... run away

me "none of yo bidness", Amazon
2 May 2006
  • Summary: this product is terrible, the only reason you might want one is to bulk scan photos but then you find the thing won't do a good job - the auto-crop software does not work and you end up getting your photo with a bit of the scanner's pieces visible as well, so then you're into doing work by hand on each image to manually crop. sort of defeats the purpose. hp support is useless on this subjec too. run away.
