This scanner is now part of my photo toolkit.

mbur1125, Ebay
12 January 2013
  • Summary: My Linux computer supports this scanner, with no additional software other than the standard package XSane. The support is specialized or works best for 1200ppi. Results can be had in 300ppi mode (but with light and dark bands) for photographs and documents. And 2400ppi (with dark and light stripes) scans are successful for slides and negatives when using the slide and negative holders. The full color range setting for XSane is what I use for both slides and negatives.

Noisy and clunky, but gets the job done!

classicsandoriginals, Ebay
9 October 2012
  • Summary: While this scanner is a bit noisy, the scans are easy to produce and are of good quality. The built in slide scanner is a breeze to use. I was scanning slides minutes after opening the box. Software is a bit clunky, yet functional. Overall I am very happy with this product.

  • Summary: The main reason for deciding to buy a scanner is because of bad need.I purchased this inexpensive scanner due to its high quality standards. It is compatible with many operating systems including windows XP professional. Moreover,by following the instructions of its manual supported by the related CD,it is so easy to install even for non-knowledgeable person!Besides,it spares time as well as money whenever you need to use it!

Yellow Streaks

daGoofinator "daGoofinator", Amazon
17 June 2010
  • Summary: Scanning family pictures and documents, YELLOW STREAKS all down Left and Right sides. HORRIBLE QUALITY even at 600dpi. Don't waste your cash on this, get a real scanner. That would be an Epson scanner for those who don't know.

Great Scanner

goobereater, Ebay
8 May 2010
  • Summary: This thing isn't fast, but that is it's only shortfall. I scanned a 3 3/8" x 2 3/8" photo then enlarged the resulting file to 8" x 10" with no visible loss of resolution. At maximum resolution it is very slow but the results are worth the wait.

Difficult to install and use

L. Wilson, Amazon
18 April 2010
  • Summary: I got this scanner to replace a much older HP scanner (which I loved) that had no driver for Windows XP. The older scanner was easy to install and easy to use. It had many good features. I assumed that this scanner would be an ever better version. I was wrong. This scanner has issues with the CD installation. Sometimes it quits working and I have to reinstall. It never seems to install the same way twice.
