Summary: Good? It is very fast. It scans about 45 pages a minute. Bad? 1. When you push the button to scan, it can take up to a minute to start the scanning process. Total headache. 2. It jams somewhat frequently.
Summary: I purchased this scanner several years ago. I typically only scan several pages at a time. The machine continually jambs, I spend more time clearing, resetting the scanner than actually scanning the documents. For every one-page that it scans one-page jambs. It is very frustrating for a scanner that cost over $700 when I purchased it. At this price point, it should function much smoother. Now one side of the double-sided scanner is leaving black streaks.
Summary: Comments about HP Scanjet 7800: My friends and I love this scanner. It has a very unique look to it and has proved to be a very fast machine. You can san both sides of the paper and you have the option to scan a few different sized papers. This scanner has many other great features that I strongly suggest anyone in the market for a new scanner take a look at. You won’t be sorry.
Pros: Accurate Color, Easy Setup, Excellent Software
Summary: Comments about HP Scanjet 7800: It has a 25 page per minute capacity to scan pages. This is more encouraging than the usual scanner available in the market today, but is to be predicted for a scanner within this price range. It provides support to bigger formats, such as legal (8.5 in x 14 in). This machine has somewhat bigger footprint and may overpower smaller work stations.
Pros: Accurate Color, Easy Setup, Excellent Software, Good Bit Depth
Summary: Comments about HP Scanjet 7800: If your office does lots and lots of scans like we do, then this is the scanner for you. It will save you lots of time, lots of headache and you will get excellent quality scans. Just remember it is for heavier scanning demands.
Pros: Excellent Software, Good Bit Depth, Good Resolution, Widely Compatible, Works on Network
Summary: Comments about HP Scanjet 7800: With all the paperwork that gets printed out, once in a while, one of our coworkers would lose a file but still have the printout. This scanner saved us a lot of headache. Especially documents from storage that we just never had backed up. It is capable of auto-scanning 50 pages at a time, and is fairly fast. Makes the entire task a lot easier than it sounds. It is almost 20 inches deep and about a foot wide and a foot tall.
Summary: Comments about HP Scanjet 7800: This is a small yet very reliable machine. I am a teacher and I use it to scan all of my reports and homework assignments. It is very small and does not take up any room at all. I would highly recommend this to anyone interested.
Summary: We bought two of these for work. One works great but the other one is going back. It worked fine for a couple of weeks and then the computer would randomly stop communicating with the scanner. Out of 10 pages, the HP scanner would scan 2 and then stop. Pop-up message on computer would say that it could not communicate and to check the cables. IT department checked the cables and reinstalled the drivers but no go. So it's going back to HP.
Summary: I can't rate this product yet because it doesn't work. It comes with no manufacturer warranty! I run an IT department and can't get it to work. I called HP and they confirmed it was a software problem but that I would have to purchase 45 minutes of "Help time" for $69.00 before they could address the problem! This is a brand new out of the box product. HP is a scam.
