Summary: I bought this scanner back in 2006 as my filing cabinets were bursting at the scenes. Eight years later, I am looking for a replacement. It got the job done, but not without causing its share of frustrations. Setting it up was a nightmare, as it took some fidgeting to get it to talk to my computer. As do most scanners, on occasion the ADF will pull two sheets together, but unlike the newer high end scanners it has no means of detecting this.
Summary: I purchased two of these and they are perfect for desktop scanning in great color or B&W. This HP Scanner is a professional model and outperforms just about any multi-purpose scanner of any brand that I have used in the past 10 years. If you need a scanner to work with your PC or MAC to do quick scanning of receipts, documents, photos, negatives; just about anything that you need to convert to digital format....this is the scanner to buy.
Summary: I'm really impressed by the many different options for scanning a document that this scanner provides. Its speed, the color quality and clarity of the text, document loading options, compatibility with Windows 7, and inexpensive cost have made me a fan!
Summary: This is the 3rd that I have owned. I have one for my home office and one for my business office. The 3rd replaced my work one as after many years, it finally gave out. The replacement one was faulty - HP and Amazon were great in simply replacing it with another and had it shipped out before I even packaged up the faulty one.
Summary: The copy from the upper tray came with lines, I bought it to transfer a lot of photos, but not worthy, because of the lines, have to go back to my old photo scanner , Probably because was not new??
When the ADF (Auto Document Feeder) works, this is a decent little machine

Summary: When the ADF (Auto Document Feeder) works, this is a decent little machine. Unfortunately, I'm on my third, yes third, ADF unit. I'm glad that HP has sent me replacement parts, but this is ridiculous! The biggest reason I purchased this particular scanner was the ADF and the ability to do double-sided scanning. Unfortunately, this is turning into a case of 'you get what you pay for.
