Summary: I have and always will love the Fujitsu Scan Snaps. They are quality scanners that are well built and hold up for the long run. They are typically compact and fast imaging for filing electronically. They provide simple interface programs for filing and give you the option to scan directly to pdf, email, folder, print and so on. It also comes with a file management program which I elect not to use and point directly to my file server.
Summary: While it took me a little time for figure out how to put the unit together, this scanner is everything I had hoped it would be, and more. Very please with its ease of use and compact style. I now keep all of my files in a backed-up file on my computer. No more bulky paper files. Love this machine.
Summary: I have used the scansnap brand for windows for 4 years now. There a need for all of us to turn our piles of paper records into electronic .pdf's. I tried thr neatdesk, the software was great, but the scanner was not all I hoped it would be. Thier software works with the scansnap for mac, so I purchased it. All that... bag of chips & bucket of cheese!
Summary: This scanner is an incredible tool for fast and efficient conversion of paper to electronic PDF files. If you want to get rid of paper records and/or create an electronic file cabinet, this machine is a great workhorse. Full duplex scanning with options for speed, quality, color, etc., make this one of the most versatile and dependable products I have owned. I have used this for many years and just purchased a second one for another location.
Summary: So, I never had any expectation of using it to scan photos. I bought it to scan paper: invoices, receipts, checks, deposits, contracts, etc. It works fantastic for all of that. I've been using it for about 18 months now and scan hundreds of documents every month. If there's a way to make it put each sheet in a stack to a separate file, that's the one thing I'd like. An option to either have the stack go to one file, or the stack go to separate files.
Summary: I don't normally leave reviews for items I purchase -- and especially for things that I bought well over a year ago. (I got this item in March 2009.) But I just want to say that this little scanner has been a life saver for me! I got this to enable me to begin digitizing old records and files - and it's truly a wonder. Very few electronic items that I've purchased have ever been so trouble-free, easy to use, and work so reliably and quickly.
