Summary: Love this product. It is fast and is helping us go paperless. Occasionally it will pull more than one sheet. You can hand feed it or go into the document and add pages that were missed after you scan them separately. I would highly recommend this product.
Summary: Comments about Fujitsu S510M: This is a great scanner for documents to be converted into PDF. Very easy to setup and easy to use. Being that it is refurbished, I needed to run it a few times before the rollers would work nearly flawless. As for photos? I do professional work and my older flatbed is much better for high end stuff.
Summary: In general, the product works exactly as advertised: it scans all sorts of documents, and combined with DevonThink Pro Office for Mac's OCR capabilities, it does everything promised. The paperless office is definitely within reach with this unit, and I've been incredibly impressed with the speed of the scanning and the accuracy.
Summary: I bought a refurbished S510M from a seller that I reached through an Amazon link and discovered upon receiving it that refurbished machines DO NOT come with the Adobe software, even though the seller's product description specifically stated that the Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Professional for Mac would be included.
Summary: I have been using this scanner at work for about 1 month. It has worked very well for me. It does have some problems when you try to scan two different sized sheets together. It has a hard time determining the size of the second sheet but it will let you rescan the last sheet. Otherwise it has functioned very well and is very fast. I would rate it a 5 star but it is not twain compatible so you have to use the software that comes with it.
Good - but you may want to get newer model ** Revised comments **

Summary: After reading all of the glowing reviews, I purchased this product at the end of February 2009 with the intent of using it primarily to scan in documents. However, I was in a pinch to digitalize photos for a digital frame that was being given as a gift, so I used it to scan in a few hundred photos. It did "OK" - as there was some loss of detail, and a lot of the edges of the scanned images were discolored - (perhaps the unit had gotten too hot).
Summary: Been using the S510M for a couple of weeks now and the best thing about this scanner (IMHO) is its speed vs scan quality. This little machine will scan sheets quickly and still produce very good images for archiving and even re-printing. Higher resolution scans will slow it down a bit but that's to be expected. The software that Fujitsu has developed for the scanner (the ScanSnap Manager) is relatively intuitive and highly customizable.
