Summary: It took a long time to get the correct software downloaded and running, but now that I'm able to use my scanner I am really enjoying how easy it is to use. Hoping to scan and shred a lot of documents this summer!
Summary: Comments about Fujitsu ScanSnap S500M: I bought this to work out my paper problem at my workplace. I had 3 file cupboards full of documents that had to print. When I had finished, the shredding group lifted up a pile of paper about 12 feet tall!
Pros: Accurate Color, Easy Setup, Excellent Software, Good Resolution
Summary: This product was something that I had wanted to try and that I had really believed in, but was unsure of. It was expensive, and I wasn't convinced I would use it enough, or that it would do all it said.
Summary: This little device is amazing. Very fast and lots of options. Good software, and lots of free stuff comes with it. My only gripe is that it takes a while to warm up, and while that's happening, it'll take three or more sheets at a time.
Summary: I've had the ScanSnap 500m for a few months now. It works as advertised. Scans both sides of my documents quickly, even on "best" quality. It's easy to use to, just insert the paper and push a button and it goes into a PDF that I can edit later.
I lost 106 pounds last week - thanks to my ScanSnap

Summary: That's the weight of the paper I took to a certified shredding facility, after scanning most of those documents to PDF files using my ScanSnap S500. I bought it last year to use at home, with the goal of reducing the amount of paper I keep to the absolute minimum by scanning everything to PDF files.
Summary: Like everyone has said, this is a fast, quiet and small scanner. Did I say FAST? Why did I give it only 4 stars? Because the software does not give you enough control. For example, you can only scan in B&W (1 bit) or color mode. No grayscale scanning.
Summary: Our office has dozens of HP Scanjets and Xerox Documates and, as the IT guy, I hate every one. Feeders wear out, get jammed, pull multiple pages through, and are slow. I decided to go with the Fujistu ScanSnap because of all the great reviews, despite the higher price.
