Excerpt: I have purchased the ScanSnap S1300i in order to digitize all documents which I currently store in paper format. The S1300i does this in a very user friendly and reliable way. Although the S1300i is not a superfast document scanner, converting all my paper documents to searchable pdf"s took surprisingly little time. Scanning receipts takes several attempts sometimes, but the S1300i gets the job done once you find out the optimum way.
Excerpt: It definitely serves my purpose, which is to keep track of personal records electronically. Easy to setup and to start using it. The only downside I found was I thought ALL PDF documents scanned would be searchable by default - however there are certain conditions that need to be met (such as highlighted keywords) for searching to be enabled.
Pros: Easy To Use, Scans Accurately, Scans Quickly
Excerpt: Of course you cant scan a page of a book or booklet. But is is not easy to scan multiple pages of different sizes in just one document. While the feeder is good it is not excellent. I am happy with the product but it does not solve all the scan needs.
Excerpt: I presume I bought a bundled version because I can scan both sides of a document. I am very impressed with quality of the scans, but I still am not using it fully as I had hoped. I want to be able to store documents in folders and have ability to add or delete pages, move pages to another order, etc. These documents would all be searchable, of course.
Excerpt: I bought this scanner to reduce (eliminate?) my physical file cabinet. It scans beautifully on both sides of the paper. I really like that it's easy to organize all of my scanned paperwork into folders and files; management of these folders is also easy. My only complaint is that when I am scanning multiple pages (up to 4 sheets it seems to handle OK) often the scanner sends through 2 or 3 sheets at once.
