Summary: I bought this scanner primarily to scan receipts. However, the thin paper most receipts are printed on either gets caught in the roller or gets pulled through crooked (80% of the time). Also, the software always insists on asking you if you want to save the document/image even when you have to Show Preview option turned off. I just want it to scan to a folder like it advertises! I don't want to have to manually accept each document! It's going back to Amazon.
Summary: I bought the Fujitsu S1300i ScanSnap Scanner after doing research and reading the reviews on Amazon. I specifically needed to scan product/price lists into Excel to make pivot tables for my business. I had tried the free demo version of Abbyy FineReader on my slow flatbed scanner, and it worked perfectly. Since Fujitsu's advertising says that with the included Abbyy FineReader software, you can "scan to Excel" this purchase seemed like an ideal solution.
Summary: Spent hours trying to make it work on Kubuntu via software fixes and microsoft virtual machine. Finally gave up. Planning on moving to Apple so holding on to the scanner based on fantastic reviews by friends.
