Excerpt: You pay for what you get...purchased a comparable product at a third of the price, and it was subpar. As a B & H tech advised this company does not make toys. Only issues is the storage case sold separately should not demand a price of $. Other then that its worth the money!
Pros: Accurate Color, Easy To Set Up, Excellent Software, Good Bit Depth, Good Resolution, Widely Compatible, Works on Network
Excerpt: I publish an online newspaper at hunterword. and need a scanner to send info to my writers and editors as well as for recommendations for my journalism students. As well as to back up documents. ScanSnap is just the right size for my modest operation. The paper feed works excellently so that I don't have to worry about re-scanning because of crooked pdf files. The emailed material looks very professional.
Pros: Accurate Color, Easy To Set Up, Good Resolution
Excerpt: The hardware and software were simple to install and use right out of the package. More work on intuitive use of the software is in order. I suggest a review of several non users and listen to their suggestions. Watch the difficulty they experience, note, and redesign the interface page. Format appears to be written by an experienced user and not from the side of a new user. A preview box as each change is rolled over for that particular choice would be valuable.
Good, but with additional features, could be GREAT!

Excerpt: I really like my Scan Snap. It does a fabulous job of scanning and is super fast! But I have a couple of suggestions that could make it a GREAT portable scanner. 1. Make it a both a Scanner-Wand that can scan ANY item, like an open book, piece of fabric, etc., in addition to being able to scan paper through the feeder. 2.
Excerpt: Installation was effortless. I just wish I could tell the software not to start when I reboot. Product scans paper by running it around a roller. This is a good solution when one needs something portable that can be operated in not much space, but this also means that it does not work on cardboard. The scan is fast enough for my needs. I scan things exclusively to PDFs and do not use the other integration functionality.
Excerpt: The scansnap is great hardware. I have been using portable scanners for several years now and used to use the DS Mobile 600. I have worn them out and find the ScanSnap to be better made and also allows for easier cleaning. The scansnap software however is terrible. It requires a lot of clicks, is poorly organized and when saving files makes it impossible to see previous files you have saved in a particular directory instead only showing the last 10 files you have saved.
