I don't use my flatbed scanner anymore; ScanSnap does everything that I need.

  • Excerpt: In early 2013 we refinanced our house and they required copies of two years' of income tax records. Doing this on my flatbed scanner was a real chore. We faced the same issue later in the year when we bought a condo, so I bought the ScanSnap S1100 for those and other documents required for the transaction and it saved me a ton of time while producing excellent images.

Nifty Supplemental Scanner

LeeB, Adorama

  • Excerpt: I have access to flat-bed scanners with document feeders both at work and at home. I keep the S1100 Mobile Scanner at my desk at work for small jobs, especially those requiring color. It is wonderful - saves me standing in line during high use times at the main machine, and now I cannot imagine being without it. It has been in use for a few months with perfect performance.

Great travel accessory

  • Excerpt: I have been using this unit for over a year. I am able to scan pages, business cards and even ID cards. Fast and efficient setup for going from multiple locations. I would recommend purchasing the hard case for those that travel frequently. Keeps the scanner protected and cable neatly tucked away. Case design allows you to use the unit with out removing from the case. Both wonderful products together!

Good hardware; not so great software

KK "kek@spamex.com", Amazon
15 February 2014
  • Summary: I have used this scanner for two years. The operating software is a nightmare to download with multiple large files, requests for passwords, etc. I have had no luck scanning business cards and successfully converting them to a legible format for Outlook or another contacts database. Eventually I dropped it -- lightly -- and now it won't turn on at all. Replaced it with a Brother DSmobile 600 which is not as good as this one.

Excellent quality in a lightweight and portable device

  • Excerpt: I purchased this scanner initially to use on the road. It is so easy to use and the image quality is so good I now use it as my primary scanner both at home and on the road. I find it is so easy to keep it on my desktop, plugged into my computer, that I use it instead of the full size scanner that is part of my office all-in-one machine. The quality is better, and somehow the file sizes are smaller even though the image quality is better than on my all-in-one.

  • Excerpt: I love this product. I keep all my bills and important documents on the computer now and no longer have the clutter of paper in the house. It took awhile to set up, but was well worth it. Thanks for the product!

Excellent and convenient little scanner

T. Traub, Amazon
3 February 2014
  • Summary: After comparing the features, reading the reviews and watching the prices, I settled on the ScanSnap S1100. It's easy to use, conveniently slim and light, and it comes from a reputable manufacturer. Unboxing the scanner is simple. The main thing is to take the CD and install the software before hooking up the scanner. We installed it to a Dell laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium, and it was more or less straightforward install process.

you need this scanner

  • Summary: I think this is the coolest device I have in my home office. I just scanned 40 photos I had laying around and did them in just a few minutes. If I used my flat bed scanner it would have taken forever. This scanner is just great. Super easy to use and the USB hookup is great.
