Excerpt: I was extremely hesitant to spend such a large amount of money for a scanner but I did my research and ordered it knowing that if it did not live up to my expectations B&H's excellent customer service would accept a return. The scanner is a workhorse! I am a solo medical practitioner scanning patient charts into electronic records. Some of these charts are over 400 pages long. Most of them are comprised of crumpled, wrinkled, bent, ruffled, and otherwise imperfect pages.
Excerpt: A big aid to office productivity. The speed and ease of use of the copier facilitates the electronic rather than paper storage of lots of documents. Also helpful is that copies on both sides when needed are automatically done, and it integrates well with out Mac system. The one problem I experienced was the ability to connect it wirelessly. Even with help from customer support, we were not able to get it going, but it was not that important to us.
Excerpt: The system worked just fine when we first installed it (Win7). With each succeeding upgrade to the software it got more and more temperamental. With the last update, it finally got to the point where it wouldn't work at all. After deleting the software and reinstalling it from the original installation CD, the system works just fine once again. We don't ever expect to upgrade the software again as a result of our experience!
Excerpt: The ix500 scans everything extremely quickly. I am completely satisfied with this scanner. The software integration with other services and applications on my computer has been very helpful. The ABBYY software does need some improvement. 5 out of 5 if this worked even remotely better. Overall, I am happy with this scanner and would recommend it to anyone.
Product is very reliable with a good variety of functions

Excerpt: Personal computer knowledge is limited and thus found product bit of a challenge to connect to wireless system. After making connection worked just OK until lighting struck and knocked out, among other items, the wireless system. IT service installed new wireless and reconnected ScanSnap and it has been flawless since. Have not explored usage of every optional function on the Scan Snap but have a process that works well for my particular need.
Great scanner - little issue w dark drop down boxes in Android software.

Excerpt: This is quality built scanner, very fast - 25 2 sided pages per min. Its the best investment I've made for the office in years. Scan to email or smartphone or Evernote is easy without desktop PC or Mac connected. Only issue is the Android software has very dark drop down options for "edit, rename, move, send." that are difficult to see in some lighting situations.
Excerpt: I was getting tired of scanning photos on a flat bed scanner so, we bought this to scan in large quantities of photos. It does a really good job at scanning small (20ish) picture stacks of varying sizes at a time and it's lightning fast compared to a flatbed. RARELY picks up more than one at a time and when it does the software is great at catching the mistake and notifying you. Image quality is good, but the software bundled isn't particularly intuitive.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Fast, Good Resolution, Works on Network, Works Well With Photos
It doesn't allow you to put different sizes of paper in at the same time without it stopping the scan

Excerpt: Moving and sorting scanned docs is not easy or impossible once they are scanned at the same time to different folders. I would like to see an accounting program to scan into such as Quicken. Other than that it works and is a good product. I use mainly to scan for taxes but then have to still put into an accounting program. I like the fact that you can scan to Evernote. I use that program all the time. I am glad I purchased it.
