Summary: We have five of these that we are unable to get replacement rollers for. They are not much good if you are unable to use them. This item has been on back order by the manufacturer for 4 months that I am aware of. It is ridiculous!
Summary: I can't tell whether this is a decent scanner or not, but I can tell any prospective buyers that the software available online from EPSON is really inferior--like working with something from the 1990s. Very poor quality, and won't be buying from Epson again.
Summary: The scanner will turn on, but any activity leads to a display of Fatal Error FE1. It will not run any diagnostic or scan and has been determined to be defective. I was disappointed to see this has been a common problem after reading good reviews on this scanner.
Summary: The first scanner I bought never worked. I kept getting "fatal error" every time I tried to scan. They were nice about replacing it, but the new one only worked twice and I got "fatal error" again. Don't buy this scanner. Googling "GT-S50" and "Fatal Error" shows many people have had this problem.
Summary: After purchasing the GT S50 scanner, after reviewing lots and lots of fab reviews, I got it home, installed the software and even though it was compatible with my computer, my entire computer crashed and would not even boot to Windows, and not boot to the restore disc.
Summary: I purchased this scanner with high hopes. After installing and attempting to use it several times, we kept getting an "FE Fatal Error" message. This error wasn't explained anywhere in the documentation that we searched, so we tried reinstalling, rebooting - all the standard stuff.
