The scanner is defective and epson won't fix it.

Summary: I really like the features of this scanner, and for the first 20 days it was awesome. Then one morning, my computer would constantly lose connection with the scanner. I have tried several different computers, Mac and Windows, and none of them can maintain connection long enough to scan something larger then a 5 page document. After several hours with Epson support, they say it's my usb port and the can't fix/won't it.
