  • Excerpt: I have used both v700 and v750 scanners. Both are good for photographers as well as for pre-press users, like offset or digital printing. It gives you very sharp image, highlights and shadow details. Epson software understands photography values and gives you closest color to the original exposure.

  • Excerpt: Overall this is a great scanner. The main negative feature is that the scanner does not take in all of the glass scanning area, so the user needs to be aware of that limitation. The V700 has scanned thousands of pictures and negatives and the resulting scans are excellent.

great scanner but focus tweaking is important

Boris Starosta, Amazon

  • Summary: I got this for scanning medium format and 35mm slide film. The full potential of this scanner cannot be reached without doing some tweaking in the focus. You do that by figuring out ways to get the film at just the right height above the platen.

Great scanner

Memory Keeper, Epson
7 March 2014
  • Summary: I am pleased with this scanner. It does a good job with photos, documents, and 35 mm slides. I had bought it because I was told it would do the larger older slides that measure 2 inches square before mounting. These slides are on glass and mounted with metal.

  • Excerpt: After receiving a replacement for a DOA V700, I have scanned b&w prints, color prints and Ektachrome transparencies with very good results using VueScan. When I further refine my scanning workflow, I expect even better results.

  • Excerpt: I purchased this scanner with a mission in mind. I've got over 10,000 of my fathers and my own slides - a combination of 35mm and 6x6. There are also 5 binders of negatives also in both formats. So far I've scanned over 500 of the 35mm slides and am very pleased with the image quality.

Very good scanner, but..

Tom Brandeis, Amazon
2 January 2014
  • Summary: After scanning several hundred 35mm slides of widely varying subjects and age/condition, I can say the following about this scanner: - The scan quality is exceptional; far beyond what I was expecting. All the flaws in my past film photography are painfully evident.
