Good results with the V600

  • Excerpt: I am very happy with the V600 and the quality it produces. I called a B&H sales person who was very helpful in pointing out the best product for my needs and budget. I have scanned a few photos, 7 reals of slides, and maybe 50 35mm negitives so far. I would recommend the V600 for anyone with slides, negitives, and photos. I wear a light glove so I do not get fingerprints and oils on the scanning glass. Very helpful.
  • Pros: Accurate Color, Easy To Set Up, Excellent Software, Good Bit Depth, Good Resolution, Widely Compatible, Works on Network

Epson Perfection: Lives Up To Its Name

drvanski, Epson

  • Summary: I just set up my Epson Perfection V600 scanner. Setup was a breeze. I just followed the instruction sheet. My first project was scanning 35mm slides I shot almost 30 years ago. I scanned at the highest resolution with dust reduction on. I thought these images would take forever to scan based on my past experience with other scanners. The Epson took about a minute per slide and produced excellent quality images at approximately 7200x4800.

Works Well Out of the Box

  • Excerpt: This is a surprisingly good product to set up and run. After reading some negative comments about the set-up and the instruction manual, I was wary. However, within 2 hrs. I was making very good scans from slides. The Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 included is obsolete by 2 versions, so I wouldn't consider that a plus. The plastic holders for the slides and film feel flimsy, so I will handle with care.
  • Pros: Accurate Color, Easy To Set Up, Good Bit Depth, Good Resolution
  • Cons: Flimsy holders, Obsolete Phsp Elements

Love this scanner

  • Excerpt: I use this scanner to scan my 35mm negatives (color and b&w) with hopes to add in some 120 medium format. Simply put, for the price it is an excellent purchase. Easy to use, the software is fairly intuitive, and the bundled Photoshop Elements lets me do quick alterations on the fly. Highly recommended for film scanning.

  • Excerpt: As a novice with Apple, it would have been nice if you had a easy separate instruction for install. I hope I got thee Adobe elements correct.
