Summary: Bought this unit to replace an older Epson scanner that started to give up the ghost and did not work with Windows 7. Fast, simple install, ready to scan in minutes. The new generation scanning comes on immediately, no warm up time. Scans my comic books for web auctions in under 7 seconds. I have not had a chance to try all the "fix-it" features that come on the disc, haven't used it for what a lot of people will, to scan in old pictures and slides. No complaints!
Summary: I recently purchased the Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner for my home office, I currently have the V500 at work and love the LED technology that lets me scan without the warm-up wait. The quality of the scans are outstanding. My primary purpose is for scanning film, 120 mm, 35 mm negatives and many, many 35 mm slides.
Summary: After trying to scan some negatives on another scanner that was meant for 35mm, I bought the V600 as I needed a unit that would handle some medium format negatives from the 50s. The negatives were in pretty bad shape with lots of scratches, dirt and who knows what on them. I selected the Digital ICE option when scanning and I have to say it is a magical!
Summary: We just got this scanner, but it installed easily and is WAY faster than our older Epson 3170. The old one worked well but this is an upgrade with at least as many possibilities. Will know more after more testing, but so far so good! Feels solid and slightly lighter than the old one.
Summary: I've only used it for a week or so and find it easy to use and it does a great job of scanning. I've used the film scanning feature on 2.5x2.5 film and it does a good job. The only thing is the neg. holders are not made very strong. It seems a bit slow in scanning, but then it may be the settings I'm using .
Summary: I purchased this scanner to scan old negatives and slides of my family. I was surprised that this scanner included a free copy of Adobe Elements 9. The scanner has selections for getting rid of dust particles and for restoring color. In a few cases, the slides were bad enough that the restoration of color made them look worse. But there were very few exceptions. Most were fantastic. I also scanned slides for my husbands family and restored the color.
Works in mavericks both withEpsonScan and with Apple ImageCapture

Summary: I downloaded the latest software from Epson in 12-2013 and it all just works, does well with documents, photo's and slides. The software (Photoshop Elements and ABBYY scan express) are just about worth the purchase price. I have no trouble using this with Mavericks (10.9) and both the Epson software and Apples built in Image Capture work great.
