Excerpt: I had bought this awhile ago but as a new mom hadn't had a chance to actually set it up and use it. Was excited to finally have some time to start scanning in 35mm negatives and working on photos.
Summary: I was excited to get this scanner because my project involved scanning lots of photos. When it arrived, I followed the instructions to the letter. All installed, I was ready to start but on the first photo the scanner gave an error code.
Excerpt: I have used Epson scanners for 15 years. I wanted to upgrade and so I got this scanner. I am pleased with the hardware, but the software is so BAD it is incredible. I am using it to scan old color prints. I open the software, ask it to make a print, and the scanner software goes away.
Summary: The scanner works well enough but the software is not very good nor easy. It took a while to discover and locate and use the OCR function. Saving a scan is too complicated, and printing the scan is also not simple.
Excerpt: This is a great scanner, but quality control is a problem. I have one that has been in service for over a year, and we ordered another one. That arrived with grease and dust under the document glass. This cannot be cleaned by the user per Epson, had to RMA it back.
Pros: Accurate Color, Easy To Set Up, Excellent Software, Good Resolution
Summary: It is hard to write a review or attach a rating. My new reconditioned scanner will not power up out of the box. The help guide is no help. Just a blinking light with no remedy. Or even approach to a solution. Just a bad individual product. I wish to return it for a replacement ASAP!
Summary: The DVD said it was from Japan. I bought it at Apple on line, delivered today, with my expectation that it would make my family history work faster and easier than the equipment I have now. It is the same kind of issue the old Windows products had before Steve Jobs made computer life a joy.
