Good scanner but very poor software

Mitch the younger, B&H Photo
2 February 2015
  • Excerpt: I have used Epson scanners for 15 years. I wanted to upgrade and so I got this scanner. I am pleased with the hardware, but the software is so BAD it is incredible. I am using it to scan old color prints. I open the software, ask it to make a print, and the scanner software goes away. I have to open it again to make another print. This is bad, but not the worst thing about it.\ The scanner started making two copies of the same picture.
  • Pros: Accurate Color
  • Cons: Poor Software

All Negatives Very Blurry with Horrible Contrast

Unhappy, Epson
6 December 2014
  • Summary: It is not the source- my negatives are perfectly clean, crisp and colored. The film is flat. It is not damaged in any way. When viewed with a backlight, the negatives are fantastic.

On the V600 scanner

Vern, Epson
14 October 2014
  • Summary: The scanner works well enough but the software is not very good nor easy. It took a while to discover and locate and use the OCR function. Saving a scan is too complicated, and printing the scan is also not simple.

Need to get quality control fixed

AZ, B&H Photo
11 October 2014
  • Excerpt: This is a great scanner, but quality control is a problem. I have one that has been in service for over a year, and we ordered another one. That arrived with grease and dust under the document glass. This cannot be cleaned by the user per Epson, had to RMA it back. Now the replacement has dust under the glass as well, so it has to go back too. It's not a good deal if it doesn't work properly.
  • Pros: Accurate Color, Easy To Set Up, Excellent Software, Good Resolution
  • Cons: Defective Manufacture, Slow

Does not function

mtincher, Epson
3 September 2014
  • Summary: It is hard to write a review or attach a rating. My new reconditioned scanner will not power up out of the box. The help guide is no help. Just a blinking light with no remedy. Or even approach to a solution. Just a bad individual product. I wish to return it for a replacement ASAP!

Performance on iMac

momvera, Epson
25 June 2014
  • Summary: The DVD said it was from Japan. I bought it at Apple on line, delivered today, with my expectation that it would make my family history work faster and easier than the equipment I have now. It is the same kind of issue the old Windows products had before Steve Jobs made computer life a joy. It is just too much hassle for the money. Very poorly documented and the won't even allow the Guide Book to be downloaded or burnt to a DVD to examine more closely.
