Excerpt: I have been quite pleased with this device's efficiency, and especially its quality. It comes with a nice software program that only takes a few minutes to load, and which lets you control several settings and features for the scans, to quite a lot of detail. After having this device for a mere seven days I have already scanned over 1,800 photo slides at 3200 dpi resolution (which comes out to approx. 1.5M to 2M per digital picture after it is scanned).
Excerpt: This Epson Scanner has been a game changer for me. After buying and trying several different scanners from other companies only to quickly return them, this unit has changed everything for me. I was a successful sports and celebrity photographer during the late 1980's and 90's when Black and White film was King and Color Negatives and Color Slides were a premium. After taking a break to explore new opportunities in entertainment field, the digital age took over.
Great Scanner! (Be Warned: DIGITAL ICE does not work on printed images - only film/slides)

Summary: This printer was an amazingly good purchase. It's ability to scan slides, negatives and other film AND color fix old photos is fantastic and easy. THE ONE DOWNSIDE is that Epson expands on the virtues of the "Digital ICE" software that can remove scratches from old photos and what they don't care to mention is that it ONLY WORKS ON NEGATIVES, SLIDES AND OTHER FILM....NOT PRINTED PICTURES.
Summary: Easy set-up, easy to use however, I wish I could scan more slides at a time. I have thousands of slides and it will be quite time consuming. Also, I am having trouble with the scan taking so long. I think it is a software (mine not Epson's) or computer problem. The scan just stops for 2.5 to 3 minutes then resumes when it is good and ready. I would rate it higher but until I resolve the said problem I will give it a weak 4 or high 3.
