Summary: This scanner is phenomenal. I'm using it to scan artwork at 350 dpi...it will go much higher, but the corresponding image becomes very large, and 350 dpi is enough to render the images in pristine detail. Using Professional mode, each scan takes less than a minute.
I bought this refurb'd for $37 and it scans like it

Summary: I know I bought this as a refurbished product and the product does work however, I cannot seem to ever turn this device off nor can I get better image quality from my scans. Excerpt: I needed a compact scanner to put on my desk, right in front of me to scan about 1,600 photographs for a customer. Although I have "All in one" scanners, copier, printer, fax....", I needed something where I could sit in one spot to work without moving all around. This was the "ticket!
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Excellent Software, Good Resolution, Widely Compatible
Summary: The scanner comes with some great software. The OCR is wonderful. The scans are clear and sharp. I cannot say enough good things about this scanner. It is by far the best scanner I have ever had.
Summary: It's a great value, and I've had no problems with it. I must say, however, that I find it hard to "turn off". It's not intuitive. You have to first close out the software or the "on & off" button on the top will not turn it off.
Excerpt: Install was easy. This Scanner needs a separate power supply unlike the 10 year old scanner it is replacing which just used the USB power. Seems to work well. I like that the cover folds all the way back and out of the way which is useful for scanning oversized books.
