Summary: while this scanner claims to be compatible with mac os x (i tried to use the scanner with both 10.3.8 and 10.3.9), it absolutely does not work. when i downloaded new drivers for it from the epson website (while using 10.3.9) it caused an unknown program to run all the time--it was epson smart panel--and i had to buy norton disk doctor software to fix it. the software can cause, in the words of the norton disk doctor, "major problems" on your hard drive.
Pros: Well, the reviews I read promised the heavens. It did scan artwork and photo prints well. Until I also added a new Epson printer to my new Dell PC.

Pros: The quality of the scans are good for the settings.
Cons: I have been scanning for years. This is the most user unfriendly scanner I have ever purchased. There are too many hoops to jump through if you want to preview your scan before sending it to the application. It is slower than my older HP.
